Viibryd is a SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and partial serotonin receptor agonist that is used in the treatment of depression. What are the possible side effects of taking Viibryd?

Viibryd may cause side effects. Notify your doctor if you experience any of the following: dry mouth, increased appetite, heartburn, gas, dizziness, pain, burning, or tingling in the hands or feet, uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body, unusual dreams, tiredness, joint pain, changes in sexual desire or ability.

More serious side effects that require contacting your doctor immediately include:

Rash, hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, seizures, fever, sweating, confusion, fast or irregular heartbeat, and severe muscle stiffness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, unusual bleeding or bruising, nosebleeds, small red or purple dots on the skin, hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist), headache, difficulty concentrating, memory problems, weakness, problems with coordination, increased falls, or fainting.

• Missed Dose

What if I forget to take a dose of Viibryd?

If you miss a dose of Viibryd, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

• Storage

How do I store Viibryd?

Keep out of the reach of children. Store Viibryd at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 to 86 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.

• Overdose

What happens if I overdose on Viibryd?

Symptoms of overdose may include the following: fever, sweating, confusion, fast or irregular heartbeat, and severe muscle stiffness, hallucinations, lack of energy, and/or restlessness. If an overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US National Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222.
