What is Altabax?
The Altabax drug is a pleuromutilin antibiotic that comes as a topical ointment. It treats impetigo by killing the streptococcus and staphylococcus bacteria causing the infection. Most people who use this medication start seeing signs of improvement in about three to four days.
How do I use Altabax?
Clean and dry the affected skin area, and then carefully apply a thin layer of ointment. Wash your hands when you are done, unless you are using the medication to treat an infection on your hands. Your dosage schedule will depend on your condition, so follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
