What is Foltx?
Foltx contains a blend of vitamins that helps lower high levels of homocysteine. The main active agents in this medication include I-methyl folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12.
How do I take Foltx?
Take Foltx with or without food daily. Do not crush, dissolve, or mix this medication as it may cause unwanted side effects.
Before taking Foltx, tell your doctor if:
- You are taking folic acid
- You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
- You are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed
- You have any food or drug allergies
What are the possible side effects of taking Foltx?
While taking Foltx, you may experience common side effects such as: nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, or vomiting. Call your doctor right away if any of these symptoms worsen or do not go away on their own.
What if I forget to take a dose of Foltx?
If you miss a dose of Foltx, simply skip it and take the next one during the following scheduled dose. Do not take more Foltx than has been prescribed to you to make up for a missed dose, as this may cause unwanted side effects.
How do I store Foltx?
Store Foltx tablets in a room with a temperature between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep Foltx out of reach of small children and away from moisture or excessive heat.
What happens if I overdose on Foltx?
An overdose of Foltx may cause unwanted side effects such as upset stomach and vomiting. If you have difficulty breathing or you experience chest pain, contact emergency health services right away at 911or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
Warnings
Foltx should not be taken by children as it is not known if it is safe enough for this age group. Do not take Foltx if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant unless you’ve discussed the risks and benefits of the therapy with your doctor. Women who are breastfeeding should take note that it is not known if Foltx is transferred through breast milk
